On June 25th, the final of the iCAN 2018 InternationalContestofInnovation(ICI) was ended at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The work of Ji Qinjie, Ding Yu, Wang Peng and other students in ourcollege,“Multi-sensory robotic flexible hand claws”, wasselected as one of the five Chinese teams to attend iCAN 2018 final and awarded the third prize, screened by rounds of domestic selection includingprovincialcontest(Jiangsu), China Finals and China Innovative Elite Challenge. It is the first time that our students have been selected for the iCAN International Final and won the award.
More than 5,000 students from more than 20 countries around the world took part in the iCAN 2018. 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 8 third prizes, and 9 prizesforexcellence have been set in the finals. 23 teams from 10 countries and regions including China, Germany, France and Japan gathered in thePearlof the Orienttoengage in the fierce competition.
The iCAN ICI is an international annual innovation project and Quality Engineering Project of the Ministry of Education sponsored by Computer Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, ChineseInternationalNEMS Society, and Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology, now in its 12th. As an international event in the field of technological innovation of semiconductor sensors and chips based on the Internet of Things, the competition encourages innovationfrombeginning to end and all of the works arecreatedfromstudents' independent innovation. The iCAN contest has become a international stage for domestic innovative and entrepreneurial elites, as well as an international event for young people from all over the world to participate and communicate in innovation and entrepreneurship.
